Introduction
My name is nnaemeka divine chinonso , before i applied for Alluvium I worked at the bookshop while working at the bookshop , i tried learning python programming language anytime i was free,I remember when i used to wake up early to go to the bookstore with my old model laptop after cleaning up and doing some chores around i would then settle down to learn how to code.
I got to know about Alluvium university program from a good friend of mine named Mr Michael Ohagwam and i applied via the link he sent to me. After some days applying for the program i got an email from Alluvium uni about a test i needed to write luckily for me it was a python test.
After I was done with the test i got invited to join an interview with Mr Taiwo and other Alluvium staffs were I was briefed on the things to expect during the course of training.
Journey to Ado Ekiti
The journey to ado Ekiti was a long one about 5-6 hours long I was accompanied by Abdulqudus he is also here by the way , we came all the way from Lagos to partake in the program.
Experience in campus
When I arrived in ekiti we were given comfortable beds to sleep in, homemade meals,24/7 light, security, laptops, power banks for laptop and many more to help us with our studies. We were also trained in many interesting things like basic python language,DEVOPS,Gdpr(General data protection regulation),jira fundamentals, confluence fundamentals and also JQL for admins(personally) in which we have all certifications for.
In addition to certifications I also learned valuable lessons like how important teamwork is ,Tolerance, Transparency, Integrity, the ability to always remain calm which is composure, and a quality that Mr Taiwo always speaks about Ownership.
Achievements
Staying in Ado ekiti has been a very pleasant experience for me because i got to see new faces, share ideas, tour ikogosi and also learn from one another.
I came to ado Ekiti with just basic python knowledge but now I can beat my chest and prove about other great skills I learnt for example docker, pgadmin app used to create databases and tables, how to use amazon workspaces consoles, git bash, Atlassian tools like(Jira and Confluence) and many more.
Looking into the Future
I would be pleased to keep working with sir Taiwo and sir Wale closely.
Throughout my apprenticeship and finally internship.
